1941
Eduard Arranz-Bravo is born in Barcelona at the Carrer de Tamarit number
74 on the 9th of October, the son of Antolín Arranz de Blas and Angélica
Bravo de Laguna, an Argentinean woman with an Italian mother and a father from the Canary Islands.
He is the youngest of seven sons.

1951
Advanced secondary school studies at the Institut Menéndez y Pelayo in
Barcelona. He fails drawing class as his teacher is convinced that he traced the works presented.

1958
He travels to Paris and begins an uninterrupted period painting radically abstract works. He meets the physicist Miquel Masriera, who encourages him to continue painting.

1959
He enters the Advanced School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in
Barcelona, which was located at the time on the Carrer d’Avinyó.

1960
Disappointment with the highly conservative attitude of the teaching staff. He makes friends with numerous fellow-students, such as Paquito
Artigau, Gerard Sala, Puiggròs, Serra de Rivera, Pedro Giralt,
Robert Llimós, and especially Rafael Bartolozzi, with whom he was to work intensively.
These friendships are the only positive aspect of this era in the School of Fine Arts.

1961
He travels to Italy, which leaves a lasting impression. First individual exhibition at the University Club of Barcelona.

1962
Presented by Miquel Masriera, exhibition at l’Ateneu Barcelonès,
where his work was recognised by critics for the first time.
